Tamada pulls out the Suzuka Race

Suzuka ARRC 2013

Just one month after the multi-injured crash at Suzuka, Tamada came to Suzuka, to race in Round 4 of the Asia Road Racing Championship.  Tamada made a couple of laps in Free Practice 1.  Because the injury is affecting his riding more than expected, and taking in consideration of the safety of Tamada and his fellow competitors, the team and Tamada has decided to pull him out the race at Suzuka.

Tamada will continue to stay with team, and support his teammates throughout the weekend.  He will then move together with the team to Autopolis, for the race next week.  With regards to the race at Autopolis, the team will make a decision at Autoplis as to whether Tamada will race.

Comment, Makoto Tamada
“As a professional rider, it is my duty to race if there is a slight chance that I will be able to, and wanted to send a message to my fellow Asian riders what they are expected to do .  Also because the race is in Japan, I wanted show my riding to my fans.  So I am very dissappointed that I had to pull-out. But I think that this decision is the correct one, as I cannot put the other riders into jeopardy because of my riding.”
